About Us

Well we’re sure glad to have you here reading our site, and even happier that you took the time to read this ‘about’ page.

About the Site

The site only launched in May of 2010, but already we’re getting pretty solid traffic. The goal is to add about five new definitions every day (and we’ve got tons in the queue scheduled to run), so check back often for updates and add us to your RSS feed if you just can’t wait.

Our Inspiration

As parents of young kids, we found humor in the way they perceive things, and as much as we wanted to share these funny little things with our kid-free friends, we also wanted to put them out there for other parents to better enjoy and understand the fleeting time kids have to teach us everything they know before they get bogged down by harsh realities of life.

We actually conceived this site back in 2006, during the hey day of Perplexing Times, but we didn’t have the technical ability to execute it, nor the time and financial resources to make it happen. Technology caught up with us, so we’ve been able to make it happen now. Many of the first few hundred definitions were written back then, when they were fresh in our minds, even if they weren’t uploaded until the official launch of this site.

We love our kids like nothing else, and we cherish every crazy word that comes out of their mouths. Maybe it’s not for everybody, but there are those out there who will find as much joy in it as we do, and it’s for them we hope to share all this.

About the Kids

There are a bunch of us that started this site. At the time of launch we’re 6, 7 and 10, but birthdays come and go too quickly to keep it all updated all the time. We say crazy things, sometimes, and some of it ends up here. We’ve been to Montana, Puerto Rico, a bunch of other places as well.
